Crowning Ceremony (Jewish)

(This is a traditional ceremony honoring mother of the bride and/or groom on the occasion of their last child being married off. The purpose is to pay respect and tribute to a loyal and devoted mother.)

Mother or mothers are seated in the center of the room escorted by their husbands. Close relatives such as children and grandchildren are called up to pay tribute. Ceremony ends with bride and groom placing a crown on the head of his or her mother. In the event that both mothers are marrying off their last child, a double crowning is given.
