A Light In The Shadow

This photograph was taken on our field trip to McKee Gardens. I was attracted by the color and shape of the water lily, as it contrasted with the dark reflections in the water. It reminded me of a firework exploding in the night sky. The flower stands upright and alone, as many people must do in life. Surrounded by darkness, the lily strongly maintains its delicate beauty by exhibiting its brightness and color. I aspire to be like this flower regardless of the circumstances that may surround me.
